Modi says no to increase in assembly seats : KCR

The delimitation of assembly constituencies in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is not going to happen anytime soon. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi disclosed that the Centre is not in favour of increasing assembly seats in Telugu speaking states. KCR said that he did mention about hiking the seats but the PM replied that it will not happen. He said that there will be no impact on his government if the seats are increased or not.


The TRS supremo further added that increase AP exerts pressure and gets the hike, then TS will also ensure to get it. The CM requested the PM’s mediation to secure President’s assent for the Muslims and STs reservation bill. He requested immediate bifurcation of the High Court. Modi assured that the transfer of defence lands – Bison polo grounds to TS govt will be done soon, so that the new secretariat can come up. CM invited the PM to attend Global Investors Summit to be held in November in Hyderabad where Ivanka Trump, daughter of US President will likely participate.
